The Racquets Court: Architect / Contractor / Quantity Surveyor
And of course, all 3 businesses are Newcastle / Gateshead based – and the area should be very proud of that fact.
Legal, design & financial services
And then there’s the services that have surrounded the restoration of The Racquets Court. The building was originally owned by Newcastle City Council and the teams there have been both supportive and helpful – Property Services, Legal and Investment.
Our own legal team at David Gray Solicitors, led by Mathew Smith have been great in what has been a complex transaction (for reasons which are not immediately obvious).
The Racquets Court would not look as it does without the support of Abercrombies Interior Design
Our Bank locally (Lloyds) has been supportive – if occasionally handicapped by bank teams that are distant from the City. Last but not least the project has been grant aided by Let’s Grow and the team at BE Group led by Andrew Frost has been super helpful in a difficult time frame.
We’ve written a blog here which describes some of our experience.
Connectivity and Connectivity Services
THE key benefit of The Racquets Court is its connectivity. Commentary about Stellium is throughout this site – particularly here. We’ve benefited from the advice of both John Wilson (Sales Director) and Gerry Murray (Chief Technology Officer).
Our experience of sourcing connectivity services (largely internal switching, wifi and so on) has not been great. Local services were, once again, not competitive and we awarded the contract to Itogether, based in Leeds, who did a great job for us. For more on this, please read the blog.
